ProTech Systems Group is recruiting for a Project Manager for a direct hire position located in Memphis, TN.


Job Description:

  •         Under the direction of the Director of ERP Systems and Development, the I.T. Project Manager (Technical) is responsible for gathering business requirements, performing fact-finding activities that may result in new development or implementation of a new software solution or process improvements/simplifications and thoroughly design solutions from a technical perspective which involves researching ERP Schema, coding language and related business rules/master data
  •         Be responsible for the research and project management of systems enhancements and version upgrades, including coordinating tasks, defining the project scope, establish timeline/milestones and perform post-mortem reviews.
  •         Must be a leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with and coordinating cross-functional teams, and produce results on multiple projects at the same time
  •         Must be results oriented and eager to tackle difficult problems with a positive attitude.

Education and Experience

  •         Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 10 yrs. ERP experience
  •         5 years' experience as a Programmer/Analyst or similar technical background that shows an understanding of ERP design and programming
  •         Familiarity with all technical aspects of an ERP system is required
  •         Project management experience


  •         Any combination of education and experience that provides the skills and abilities to perform the job
  •         Should be familiar with ERP related MRP, Production Planning, MMS/MRO Inventory, and Shop Floor systems
  •         Progress ABL and Windows or Unix OS skills a definite plus.


  • Not required but considered a plus:
  •         Advanced Degree (MBA) or Certifications, PMP or similar, QAD experience
  •         Familiarity with SCADA/PLC's, Engineering or similar background
  •         Six Sigma experience or similar. 

Job Duties

  •         Provides support to functional managers, process owners, and end users; analyzes process improvement and simplification opportunities and helps define systems and process changes or information requirements; develops specifications based on these requirements.
  •         Serves as a project leader with programming, technical, vendor and business personnel to determine system requirements, resource requirements, installation and implementation plans.
  •         Defines project task and assist management with task assignment, establishing time frames, project milestones, progress monitoring, and requirements compliance. 
  •         Provides analysis of data or aids users in the retrieval and interpretation of data.
  •         Develops an understanding and evaluates the business implications of system development and maintenance issues.
  •         Maintains in depth understanding of the client's business systems in manufacturing management
  •         Maintains a moderate understanding of each of client's business areas and works with other IT analysts or business consultants on large cross functional projects.
  •         Accurately and timely identifies program, application, and system problems.
  •         Mentors less experienced IT personnel.
