ProTech is seeking a Payroll Coordinator III for a large manufacturing organization in Andover, MA.

The Payroll Coordinator works as part of a team that is responsible for the timely and accurate accumulation of payroll data. This will be accomplished by the complete processing of the payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees of the client. (presently 6,000+ employees).

Essential Responsibilities:

Data entry and system updates in both Workday and ADP PayForce, executing interfaces between Workday and ADP, as well as executing outbound vendor interfaces. The Payroll Coordinator is capable of performing all payroll functions in the absence of the Payroll Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Entry and review of the bi-weekly or monthly payroll time data, employee maintenance, tax information, direct deposit, new hire and terminated employee processing.
  • Coordinates with Human Resource Department personnel on the timely and accurate updating of employee Masterfile changes in Workday HR.
  • Coordinates with Department Supervisors/Managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of hours to be paid via the Workday Time & Attendance System.
  • Manages interfaces between Workday HR and ADP.
  • Audits payroll data entry, employee status changes to ensure accuracy prior to payroll execution.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of employee garnishments, ensuring proper withholding and remittance to appropriate agencies.
  • Prepares and issues manual checks and same day wire transfers as required.
  • Prepares required monthly, quarterly and annual reports including, 401(k) reconciliations, and tax reconciliations.
  • Work as a member of cross-GBU, cross-functional team on projects related to system upgrades for Workday and ADP.
  • Executes and audits ADP outbound interfaces to be sent to third party vendors.
  • Executes tests in Workday and ADP test databases as they relate to outbound/inbound interfaces.
  • Writes and runs reports as required using ADP Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Federal and State laws as they relate to both income tax withholding and labor regulations.
  • Communicates with employees both as part of a call queue and via e-mail. 


  • 5 – 7 years of related multi-state payroll experience utilizing ADP payroll applications, preferably PayForce.
  • Prior experience with having a role in new systems implementation, including the testing phase.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently, or with little supervision. 


Associate Degree in Accounting or business related field, or equivalent payroll department experience


  • 5 - 7 Years Multi-state Payroll experience at a large company – 2,500+ employees
  • Experience with ADP Payforce required
  • Experience with ADP Connection, Workday HR preferred
