ProTech is seeking a Location Manager for a direct hire opportunity for our client in their Yazoo City, MS location.

Position Overview:

Responsible for managing the daily operations and sales activities of the location to assure maximum utilization and efficiency of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with all regulatory, credit, safety and organizational guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Location Manager has responsibility for the sales of all products and services available to our grower customers in the immediate market; develops sales plans and strategy and directs the activities of sales representatives assigned to the location to achieve maximum penetration in the marketing area; insures that all products are stored, handled, distributed and applied in compliance with safety, environmental and company policies; must be able to recognize changes within the market resulting from environmental, economic and competitive conditions and develop strategy necessary to compete effectively; sets goals and assigns duties for location personnel, evaluates performance, trains and motivates personnel to achieve maximum levels of performance; monitors inventory records, equipment, maintenance and utilization records, expense control and sales reports to compare performance vs established budgets; responsible to assure that the location remains in full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and our client safety and environmental regulatory standards and policies. 
  • The Location Manager deals internally with the Region Director, Corporate Credit Accounting, EHS and HR personnel. Externally, the position deals with supplier reps, dealers, growers, competitor managers, banks, university extension personnel, community leaders and state and federal regulatory agents.
  • The Location Manager must have experience/knowledge with the wide range of products sold, facilities management, state and federal regulatory requirements and excellent supervisory/management skills. It is preferred that the Location Manager have a degree in agronomy, entomology, ag business or related agriculture training; persuasive selling skills and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary; must constantly challenge his/her knowledge and skills due to rapidly changing technology, products and farming practices.
  • The Location Manager carries out the responsibilities of this position within guidelines established by state and federal regulatory requirements and our client policy. Problems or unusual circumstances outside these guidelines are discussed with the Region Director prior to action.

Key Elements:

  • Responsible for development and implementation of the location sales plans for seed, fertilizer, crop protection products and related services to maximize sales growth and profitability. Responsible for quality and timely customer service and efficient utilization of plant personnel and equipment.       
  • Trains motivates and evaluates location personnel to achieve maximum sales potential and optimization of delivery and application of products and services to grower customers.
  • Insures continued compliance with all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and our clients' EHS policies and procedures.
  • Gathers and analyzes credit information on all customers as necessary, administers and insures adherence to credit policy and is responsible for timely collections of receivables to assure plan profitability objectives are met.
  • Continuously monitors inventory and works with distribution customer service and other client locations to transfer/receive product to maximize the distribution network.
  • Coordinates with sales representatives in handling walk-in customers and in-store sales and assists all personnel to meet peak seasonal demands.
  • Maintains a high level of product and technical expertise to assure that customers are receiving the best agronomic knowledge possible for their operations.

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of product and fixtures throughout the facility, which entails lifting, and performing all functions as set forth above
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
