ProTech is seekng a Microsoft SQL Server DBA for a 3-month contract in Memphis, TN

 

Position Overview:

  •         Manages database administration as well as develops applications and system integrations that utilize the Microsoft SQL Server platform
  •         Handles project management, testing and development for new database solutions
  •         Provides reporting, data analysis and table creations for various end users.

Responsibilities:

  •         Provides IT development, support, and maintenance to system applications and integrations using Microsoft SQL Server platform.
  •         Works cross functionally with project managers, team leads, and analysts to assist with planning, development and maintenance of various IT systems. Provides business intelligence/data analysis and reporting.
  •         Works with stakeholders to capture business requirements and understand information needs.
  •         Designs, develops, tests, implements, and supports database objects required for reporting and integrations as well as normalized and de-normalized databases via a structured lifecycle.
  •         Performs relational and multi-dimensional modeling and schema creation.
  •         Develops cube dimensions, measure groups, calculations, and data management code for the partitioning schemas.
  •         Designs and develops reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  •         Designs and develops ETL packages in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  •         Develops stored procedures for .Net applications and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).
  •         Assists in the maintenance and support of legacy programs and systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field PREFERRED
  •         5-7 years of experience developing Microsoft SQL Server database solutions
  •         Experience performing tasks within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, data analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and deployment required.
  •         Experience developing physical database designs, tuning performance, and database-related troubleshooting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  •         Ability to document business requirements, and translate them into a documented technical design
  •         Ability of translate functional/technical requirements into a logical/maintainable design
  •         Advanced knowledge of data warehouse and techniques and business intelligence best practices
  •         Advanced knowledge of relational databases and development
  •         Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008 R2, 2012 and 2016
  •         Knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
  •         Understanding the influence PCI and SOX regulations have on Active Directories
  •         Attention to detail and accuracy
  •         Written and verbal communication skills
  •         Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  •         Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
