ProTech helps make laptops a reality for Boys & Girls Club
Computers are always high on the wish list of Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis (BGCM) and ProTech and ServiceMaster recently teamed up to check that off the list at the Bernal E. Smith Club.
With 15 used laptops donated by ServiceMaster, ProTech joined the effort to make sure the computers had the necessary software upgrades. ProTech CEO Steve Bargiacchi had been working with other partners to implement an IT Pilot program at the Bernal E. Smith Club and had already begun installation of the upgrades.
ProTech, a technology partner providing IT system support for BGCM, made resources and people available and teamed up with IT technicians from ServiceMaster to load software and get the laptops up and running.
“I want to especially thank Steve Bargiacchi and Tim Haynes (Service Master CIO) for making August 22, a great day for the Bernal E. Smith Boys & Girls Club and the children we serve,” said Vinson Smith, the Executive Director at the Bernal Smith Club. “This is the first step of many to help the children, we serve reach their full potential by providing them with the technology necessary for them to learn, grow and develop into well-educated citizens able to work and contribute to their community in a positive way.”
Bargiacchi is a member of the BGCM executive board of directors and ProTech is the organization’s technology partner. This partnership includes a financial investment to improve the organization’s technology and professionals to volunteer technology training at the organization’s Technical Training Center.
