ProTech Why and ProTech Cares

02/15/2024

On January 12, 2024, ProTech CEO and President Dan Weddle announced some exciting changes to our current community service initiative, ProTech Cares. “Giving back has always been an important part of our culture and ProTech Cares was already in place,” Dan said. “This year, we are excited to give the program a fresh infusion of life under the capable direction of Kourtney Huggins.”

ProTech Cares now offers employees more resources for volunteerism and an increased focus with a formalized committee. Employees were able to vote on a charity for the company to support for the year. This year’s charity is Room in the Inn, which provides shelter for those experiencing homelessness in a safe environment of hospitality. In addition, all employees will get two paid volunteer days off a year to support the charity of their choice.

The spark behind the enhanced company give-back program is the “ProTech Why,” a guiding principle developed by Dan in 2023. Taking the initials of ProTech Services Group, Inc., the ProTech Why includes:

  • P stands for Protection. ProTech offers the technology and knowledge to help our clients’ businesses grow in a secure way.
  • S stands for Service, as the company aims for 100% customer satisfaction.
  • G stands for Give Back. A re-energized ProTech Cares is the cornerstone of the company’s community-oriented culture.
  • I stands for Innovation, reflecting the company tagline “Innovation Applied.”

“When I thought of the ProTech Why, I realized I needed to build up ProTech Cares,” Dan said. “When I suggested it to a core group of employees, they bought in immediately and ran with it. We announced it to all employees in a company-wide meeting in January and it was extremely well received. I feel very blessed to work alongside people who are so passionate about serving our community.”
