With their usual enthusiasm for giving back to the community, ProTech employees recently answered the call to help provide material and supplies for a newly created “Sensory Room” at Bailey Station Elementary in Collierville.
The room, which is part of a sensory-based learning program for learning- and hearing-impaired children, is funded in part by a grant to the school. The room will be used by Julie Newman’s preschool class of 10 students. Although the grant helped get the project going, additional support was needed for supplies and furnishings.
ProTech became involved when employee Cathy Hurdle learned of the need from someone who works in a nearby office. She sent the call to action to all ProTech employees and got an overwhelming response.
Through employee donations, ProTech was able to furnish the room with a long list of items ranging from puzzle floor mats and gigantic rolls of bubble wrap to 10 beanbag chairs. The supplies, along with a giant card signed by the ProTech team, were delivered to the school on Friday, Feb. 27.
